We think and we talk about peace...
We talk about the poor, the homeless, people without papers…
We say things can't go on like this in East Congo and
something needs to be done about it.
How could the international community possibly leave things like this?
Can we possibly leave things like this?
East Congo: Minova, Bobandana, Kirotshe, Sake, Goma, Rutshuru, Jomba, Kanyabayonge, ... etc. ...
All the villages along the ‘Route du Soleil’.

Is there any sunshine on the way for those refugees?
Now and then the heat is stifling. Unbearable.
Fleeing in the rainy season. Muddy roads and paths.
Chilly nights, coughing children, shivering with cold. Empty stomachs.
Fleeing, with a basket on their back, a pack on their head,
a bike trough the mud.
Fleeing, with a child on their back, breast-feeding a child,
holding out a hand to a child,
with a child running after you, falling down and crying inconsolably.
Fleeing?
What’s the outlook? Is there any shelter?

Can we do anything for those people via the Daughters of the Resurrection
in Goma Muungamo?
So they won’t have to leave them empty-handed.
So they can help mothers, children, sick people… in their little hospital.
So they won’t have to follow the trail of the countries of West Europe,
of Belgium?
So there might be some sparkling joy in the heart of East Congo?
