Last news from the big band is announced on this
page.
Our roots are at the "three-cities-point" Melle-Vogelhoek, Merelbeke-Flora en Gent-Gentbrugge (only a few kilometres from the well-known (so we think) city of Gent in Belgium. We have a page with the history of the band which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1999.
On these pages you will also find our concert calendar for 1999 to 2006. You will find out that we perform quite often !
It is very logic that you find an overview of the music we play on the "playlist" page.
We also provide information on the demo-CD's which we have realized in november 1999 and april 2002. Some mp3 track fragments from the 1999 demo CD can be downloaded from this page.
On July 15, 2000 "The Mellvids" were broadcasted on WUKY, a Lexington, Kentucky (U.S.) based radiostation.
If you are organizer of one or another manifestation and you consider hiring our band for a performance you should read the page on "contracts".
If you are (also) musician and you feel like playing or singing in a big band formation, please check the "wanted" department. Maybe we have a vacancy for you !
